Consulting/Coaching
Confidential No-cost Consulting and Coaching
Idaho SBDC business professionals are available by appointment to meet with you to answer questions, discuss ideas, problem-solve and provide guidance one-to-one on virtually any aspect of business management. We are a blend of consultants and coaches. With our consulting hat on, we are the experts with information to share – for example, what a bank will need to see when you apply for a loan. With our coaching hat on, we ask questions to help you arrive at the direction that is right for you – for example, helping you identify your target market.
These confidential sessions are typically 1 to 1.5 hours in length and are free of charge. Meetings are generally held at the Idaho SBDC offices during normal business hours, but special arrangements can be made to accommodate unique circumstances.
Our Consultants
The Idaho SBDC staff is comprised of dedicated professionals, each with unique credentials and past experiences that make them well qualified to assist you with your general and specialized business needs. Most consultants have operated their own small business and have advanced business degrees. They are also required to regularly participate in professional development activities.
Consultants draw from their educational and business experience to provide practical, relevant advice. The consultant’s job is one of guidance and education to help business owners identify the challenges they face and the solutions to overcome them in a confidential setting. During the initial assessment process, your consultant will help you determine what kind of assistance you need.
Outside Resources
In addition to our full-time professional staff, we are able to call on the talents of a variety of higher education faculty, business professionals, and community & government leaders. The SBDC serves as the focal point for coordinating with other programs and services to bring the additional expertise necessary to support our clients.
Our Areas of Expertise
The Idaho SBDC’s efforts focus on providing in-depth quality assistance to small businesses in all areas to promote growth, expansion, innovation, increased productivity, financial strength, technical excellence, and management improvement.
