Gabriel Gallegos was working as a successful software engineer when in June 2019 he opened La Michoacana Ice Cream Palace. After meeting his sales goals early in his first year, he grew his business by adding a couple of trailers and wholesaling his products. Customers truly love the creaminess of his products and the fact that everything is made onsite using 100% real fruit and no artificial flavors!

COVID has delayed the opening of a second store front by creating some issues with his supply chain and ordering necessary equipment. However, Gabriel continues to give back to local sport clubs as well as Children’s Primary Hospital and Huntsman Cancer Institute where his mom had been a patient.

Gabriel is grateful for the mentorship and advice he receives from the Small Business Development Center saying. “Bryan is very supportive of my business dream and has been valuable with looking at my business plan and projections”.

Since leaving his job as a software engineer, Gabriel continues to grow his business and over the next three years plans to expand further into Eastern Idaho and over into Jackson Wyoming and down into Salt Lake.
